Equipment planning
Choose a slot, then fund the complete upgrade
Equipment selection, enhancement and later upgrades are separate decisions. Identify the step that improves your deployed squad before buying materials.
Planning guide revised · Sources & corrections
Start with the squad that does the work
Inspect the heroes you regularly deploy in the activity you want to improve. Note missing equipment slots, the current items and what their next upgrade previews show. Equipment on an unused hero may have less immediate value than closing a gap on your main squad, even if both upgrades add visible power.
Choose a concrete goal: more damage, fewer losses or meeting an equipment requirement. Compare the relevant battle report or game preview before and after changing equipment. Do not infer that the rarest item must fix a problem caused by troop composition, hero development or an event restriction.
Distinguish a choice box from a random chest
An Orange Equipment Choice Box lets you inspect the selectable options before choosing. Check which option fills the gap in your deployed lineup. Keep the box unopened until the available choices and the intended recipient are clear.
A Hero Equipment Lucky Chest produces a random reward from its current pool. Read the published reward list and probabilities. Do not budget as though opening one guarantees the slot or rarity you need. A possible high-quality drop is different from a selectable item.
Find the material bottleneck
| Planning question | Relevant reference | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Can I enhance the item? | Boost Ores | The complete cost to the target enhancement, not only one level. |
| Can I perform the later upgrade? | Power Cores | Equipment quality, enhancement prerequisite and every required material. |
| Do I need a different item? | Choice box and random chest | The equipped slot and actual box contents; a material purchase does not replace a missing item. |
If Cores are the only missing requirement for a useful upgrade, acquiring more Ores may not help now. Conversely, if the equipment has not met its enhancement requirement, a Core purchase can remain unusable. Shop rewards should be compared against the bottleneck, not ranked only by apparent rarity.
Compare complete plans
Include the currency cost and the other reward you would forgo in a shop. A reward that is efficient in isolation may still be a poor choice if it prevents the planned hero or building upgrade you need sooner.
Use event timing as additional value
Ready to Go and State Ruler contain equipment-related tasks in the retained reference. Check the live task, rate and trigger before opening a chest or using a Core. Opening and upgrading are different actions and may score separately.
Calculate the points your existing plan earns, then decide whether the next guaranteed reward justifies any extra materials. Do not let an uncertain ranking reward turn a small equipment plan into an open-ended spend.
